توجد خمس مراحل التي يمر بها الانسان حتى يتطور نفسياً :
المرحلة الاولى: مرحلة الفم Oral Phase مدة هذه المرحلة منذ الولادة حتى عامين , عندها يتعرف الطفل على الاشياء بالفم , يعني اذا كان يحب يتعرف على شىء جديد يقوم بادخاله الى فمه
المرحلة الثانية: مرحلة الشرج Anal Phase
مدة هذه المرحلة من نهاية العام الثاني حتى نهاية العام الرابع و هي المرحلة التي تاتي بعد المرحلة الاولى مرحلة الفم . في هذه المرحلة يتعلم الطفل حبس البول و البراز و يستخدم الحمام بدلاً من الحفاظات
المرحلة الثالثة: مرحلة التمميز Phallische Phase مدة هذه المرحلة من العام الرابع الى العام السادس للطفل , في هذه المرحلة يتعرف الطفل ماهو ذكر و ما هي اونثى ! يعني يعرف يميز الان بين الذكر و الانثى , اما من خلال الشعر او من خلال الاطلاع على الاجهزة التناسلية !
المرحلة الرابعة: مرحلة الكمون Latenzphase مدة هذه المرحلة من بعد العام السادس حتى العام 12 من عمر الطفل . الكمون و هي مرحلة الاختلاط مع المجتمع , مثل الحارة , المدرسة, العائلات و الخ ...
المرحلة الخامسة: المرحلة التناسلية genital Phase مدة هذه المرحلة من بعد العام 12 حتى نهاية العمر ! عندها تبداء الاجهزة التناسلية بالتطور يبداء الانسان بممارسة التناسل !
بعد ما شرحت لك المراحل , خلينا نشوف من هي المرحلة المسؤلة عن التصرفات المكتسبة , مثلاً الثقة و الوفاء و غيرها ......
انها مرحلة الكمون مرحلة الاختلاط بالمجتمع عن طريق المدرسة , المنزل , الحارة , الاسرة , الحدائق , التلفزيون و الاماكن العامة ! ففي الفترة ما بين 6 و 12 عام يتعلم الطفل من المجتمع و يكتسب هذه الصفات و لا يتخلاء عنها , الا اذا هجر هذا المجتمع !
