كشفت مصادر إعلامية خليجية ان اللجنة المنظمة لدورة كأس الخليج العربي الـ20 التي ستقام في اليمن للفترة من الثاني والعشرين من نوفمبر القادم ولغاية الخامس من ديسمبر وجهت دعوة الى النجم الفرنسي السابق زين الدين زيدان لحضور حفل افتتاح الدورة ولعب ركلة البداية. وأضافت تلك المصادر ان اللجنة العليا تجري حالياً اتصالات مع مدير أعمال زيدان لترتيب جدول اعمال زيارته الى اليمن. وفي السياق نفسه رحب زيدان بدعوة اللجنة المنظمة لكأس خليجي 20 وقال: انه يريد الاطلاع على حضارة اليمن التي تعد مهد العرب تاريخياً.
